Mark David Webster

I serve as Chief Information Security Officer for East Carolina University. The connections between philosophy, technology, and leadership are of interest to me, and based on research and lived experience, concerning the dynamic of technology and leadership responsibility for it, I'd argue that "philosophy matters!" Ongoing projects include the goal of using phenomenological research methods to investigate philosophy of technology, and completing work on a book, Dominion Over Technology. I dream of sitting on a dock with a fishing rod and laptop computer, writing and publishing something in philosophy that will be read long after I leave this earth. It would be fun to do the same thing in a canoe but I'd be afraid of capsizing and losing data.
