Mark Q. Gardiner is professor of philosophy at Mount Royal University. He works in what he describes as “applied” philosophy of language by exploring and critiquing the linguistic assumptions which underlie talk and thought about a range of human practices. He is especially interested in the semantics of natural languages as embodied in religious contexts, whether text, practices, or institutions, as well as in scholarly reflections on those contexts.
