Mathilde Cappelli

I am a PhD student working at the Philosophy Department of the University of Geneva in the Thumos research group on emotions, values, and norms. My dissertation is devoted to the nature of sexual desire and its distinctive affective and imaginative dimensions. I am working on it in the context of Professors Julien Deonna, Bence Nanay, and Fabrice Teroni’s “Emotion and Mental Imagery” SNF-funded research project. My other research interests are, in the main, philosophy of mind and philosophy of fiction, particularly fiction-directed emotions.
