Michael A. Rosenthal is Professor of Philosophy and the Samuel and Althea Stroum Chair in Jewish Studies at the University of Washington. He was the Chair of the Department of Philosophy for five years from 2011-2016. He received his bachelors degree from Stanford University and both his masters and doctorate degrees in philosophy from the University of Chicago. Before arriving in Seattle, he taught at Grinnell College in Iowa. He received a fellowship to study philosophy and Jewish thought at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
