My research is in the philosophy of mathematics. I am interested in foundational and methodological questions, as well as how such considerations interact. In my dissertation I consider a number of traditional objections to set-theoretic foundations and show how they can also be raised against category-theoretic foundations.
I have independently taught a course on critical thinking and have had the opportunity to assist in the teaching of a large number of logic and philosophy courses. Pedagogically I focus on student engagement and participation. I find that the best opportunity for students to acquire important philosophical skills is through practice and use.
