Mike Sutton

Mike Sutton has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. He was Deputy Director of the DTI's Warren Spring Laboratory and later Director of Trade and Industry at the Government Office of the West Midlands. On retiring from the civilw service he took up a senior research fellowship at the University of Warwick where he developed interests in the philosophy and sociology of science and technology. He was a founder director of the Manufacturing Foundation, an independent research organisation, and the West Midlands Manufacturing Advisory Service, a consultancy service for smaller companies. He is currently an independent researcher with interests in philosophy, sociology and economics. As well as science and technology he is also concerned with epistemology, ontology and ethical issues.
