Professor Emeritus of Philosophy, Manhattan College. My recent work addresses agency, ethical judgment, moral psychology, cosmopolitanism, and continues my longstanding interest in the nature of the self. I draw on various traditions, primarily pragmatism and European social thought. I have held professorships and administrative positions at: Manhattan College, The Juilliard School, Pennsylvania State University (University Park), University of Colorado (Denver).
