Mohamad Mahdi Davar is a doctoral student in Philosophy at the University of Jyväskylä and a research assistant on the project Illuminationist Philosophy in the Islamic World (ISHRAQ). He holds an MA in Philosophy from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a BA in Islamic Philosophy and Theology from the University of Tehran. His research interests include ancient and medieval philosophy, Islamic philosophy and theology, Neoplatonism, and metaphysics. His work focuses particularly on Avicenna and Suhrawardī, with an emphasis on Avicennian metaphysics and the Illuminationist tradition in the medieval Islamic world.
