About me

I am the Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of Perception in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. My most active interests are in philosophy of mind, especially perception, and philosophy of biology. For the last few years, I have been writing about perception as directed activity we undertake in order to find out about the world. The first part of this contrasts with the idea that perception is passive, the second with the claim that it isn't for knowledge as such, but for bodily action.
