I am the founding director of the Applied Evolutionary Epistemology Lab (http://appeel.fc.ul.pt), an integrated member of the Center for Philosophy of Science, and a Researcher for the Faculty of Science of the Portuguese University of Lisbon. I am also the founder and editor-in-chief of the Springer book series Interdisciplinary Evolution Research.
My main research interests include:
1) philosophy of the evolutionary sciences (causation and explanation in reticulate and macro-evolutionary theories);

4) diagrammatical thinking (with a focus on diagrams of life and evolution);
5) hierarchy thinking (ontological hierarchies and compositionality)
