La filosofia aspira a essere più che mera retorica: non può derogare da questa pretesa senza tradire se stessa. Al contempo, è inevitabilmente anche retorica: già in Platone, la critica alla retorica è parte integrante della riflessione filosofica, con il duplice scopo di distanziarsi da essa e di chiarirne il ruolo imprescindibile nella costruzione, formulazione e presentazione di una teoria. Così intesa, la retorica non è mera sofisticazione né vuoto eloquio; piuttosto, il termine denota una funzione antropologica (la capacità di persuadere come facoltà spontanea degli esseri umani) e una tecnica (l’uso regolato di questa capacità). Partendo da questa premessa metodologica, il presente volume indaga la retorica fenomenologica in funzione, da un lato, delle diverse concezioni tematiche del linguaggio in Husserl, Heidegger e Blumenberg; dall’altro, dell’impiego di espedienti e stilemi retorici così come di metafore e tropi. Mitigando l’ostilità antiretorica di Husserl e criticando gli spregiudicati sofismi heideggeriani, sarà Blumenberg a descrivere la retorica come funzione essenziale del linguaggio ordinario, riabilitandola come strumento indispensabile della filosofia.

The phenomenology of time-consciousness marks one of the high points of Blumenberg’s philosophy; the issue is broached in Lifetime and World Time (1986), on the one hand, and in the posthumously published works Description of Man (2006), Theory of the Life-World and Phenomenological Writings (2018), on the other hand. Setting out from Blumenberg’s critical analysis of Husserl’s genetic phenomenology, this article endeavors to reconstruct and interpret the most important aspects of Blumenberg’s own descriptions of the structures of time-consciousness. Special attention is paid to the concept of “presence” in Husserl’s lectures, whose metaphysical premises Blumenberg addresses, and to the concept of “recollection” (Erinnerung).

La phénoménologie vise à décrire les choses mêmes telles qu'elles se donnent à la conscience, sans y ajouter des éléments tirés d'héritages métaphysiques ou d'interprétations traditionnelles. Mais à cette fin, elle doit élucider le langage dans lequel elle tend à réaliser ce programme. Ce langage peut-il consister en une expression 'pure,' spontanée, ou doit-il se démarquer des usages quotidiens? N'est-il pas nécessairement marqué par une histoire, et n'obéit-il pas, qu'il le veuille ou non, à une rhétorique? Ne reconnaît-on d'ailleurs pas la phénoménologie à un certain style? De telles questions n'ont été ignorées ni par Husserl, ni par Heidegger, ni par Merleau-Ponty, ni par Ricoeur, ni par Hans Blumenberg, ni par Marc Richir--autant d'auteurs ici étudiés pour les réponses très variées qu'ils y ont apportées, pour la façon dont ils ont thématisé le rapport de la philosophie à son médium linguistique et au langage ordinaire, les modalités de la description, l'histoire de la rhétorique ou encore les apports possibles de la littérature (Goethe, Claude Simon...), de l'herméneutique, de la linguistique (Jakobson) et de l'art en général. Les études réunies ici explorent ces 'langages de la phénoménologie,' avec aussi la traduction d'un texte inédit en français de Hans Blumenberg sur le traitement husserlien des 'significations occasionnelles'."--Page 4 of cover.

L’analyse critique de la phénoménologie husserlienne par Blumenberg conduit à reconstruire et interpréter les aspects les plus importants de l’anthropologie phénoménologique de Blumenberg, ce qui passe par une attention particulière 1) à sa confrontation avec la méthode phénoménologique husserlienne ; 2) à sa théorie du monde de la vie, qui rend compte des structures de signification évidentes modelant l’expérience humaine quotidienne. Cette expérience a des configurations historiques, qui sont l’objet de la réflexion de Blumenberg.

The essay addresses Heidegger’s language in two distinct yet interrelated ways: in terms of his understanding of language as well his own jargon. The analysis is based on a close reading of the preamble to ›Being and Time‹ (›Sein und Zeit‹), which serves as an exemplar and is representative of the suggestive language-games that are characteristic of Heidegger’s philosophy. Therefore, the analysis focuses on the use of a single word, the adverb ›eigentlich‹. In a second step, the article examines the nominalized form of inauthenticity and questions its source and shows to which extent Husserl’s understanding of language serves as a contrast to Heidegger’s own understanding of language. In conclusion, it is demonstrated how Heidegger employed two distinct exoteric languages and why ›Being and Time‹ can be regarded as a critique of language.

What is self-deception? Does it constitute a form of falsehood or deceit? How can one deceive oneself and others if one is aware of what one wants to dissimulate? In order to address this apparent paradox, this essay employs case studies to examine various phenomena of self-deception. Thus, it becomes evident that self-deception does not concern the relationship one has with oneself, but rather a phenomenon that is anchored in interpersonal relationships. This is due to the fact that it is intersubjectively induced and motivated.

Nicht nur den Umsturz des Geozentrismus, der zur Niederlage der theologischen Astronomie geführt hat, sondern auch, als dessen metaphorisches Korrelat, die Erosion des ewig bestehenden Kosmos: Dies bedeutet für Hans Blumenberg die kopernikanische Wende, die den Weg zur Neuzeit bahnt. Am Leitfaden der damit verknüpften Himmels- und Sternmetaphorik erschliesst Nicola Zambon den Horizont der Philosophie Blumenbergs: An Konstellationen astronomischer und theologischer, ästhetischer und philosophischer Motive wird eine bewusstseinsgeschichtliche Perspektivierung herausgearbeitet, die im Blick auf Kant, Husserl und Heidegger in der Darstellung und Interpretation von Blumenbergs Phänomenologie gipfelt. Dabei figuriert der gestirnte Himmel nicht mehr die Erscheinung des Ganzen, das Eidos einer fertigen Welt: Der stetige Wandel der kontingenten, der Zeitlichkeit unterstellten Ordnung findet im 'Nachleuchten der Sterne' sein Sinnbild.
