Hi, welcome to my page!
I am Ozan, an immigrant, a first generation academic, a philosopher of life sciences.
I am a postdoctoral fellow at Institute for Advanced Studies for the Ethics of the Sciences, Leibniz University of Hannover, as well as an associated fellow of African Centre for Epistemology and Philosophy of Science, University of Johannesburg. I work on the epistemology, politics, and ethics of life sciences. I studied molecular biology and genetics at Middle East Technical University, where I did my master’s in philosophy as well. I did my PhD at the University of Münster in the project EvoPAD (Evolutionary Processes in Adaptation and Disease) within Münster Graduate School of Evolution about the concept of disease within evolutionary medicine. I am working at the intersection of philosophy of science in practice and ethics of science.
I published in English, Turkish, and German. If you would like to talk about any of my research or would like to talk about anything in general, I will be more than happy to be contacted.
