I work mainly on issues at the intersection of religion and politics. In particular, I examine liberal approaches that have claimed to accommodate citizens who engage with religion. In my PhD thesis "Religion and Justice", published as LST Monographs: https://publications.lst.edu/product/religion-and-justice/, I propose a multi-dimensional conception of needs (i.e. individual and collective) as an appropriate and fair account to accommodate the goods of religion as part of the range of goods in a liberal polity.

My latest book, co-authored with Dr. Michael Aurelio, applies the hermeneutical method to selected Filipino love songs and through it, unearthing local views and concepts about love and loving.
