Paul Bouvier

A medical doctor, specilized in paediatrics and public health. I work with the International Committee of the Red Cross, as the Senior medical advisor of this humanitarian organization, advising on health and ethics issues. My main interest is in ethics in humanitarian action in armed conflicts, in particular ethical decision making in humanitarian operations. Related fields of interest are violence and health, sexual abuse, conflicts, extreme violence and torture ; their health impact, psychosocial trauma, vulnerability and resilience; how to respond and to prevent these events. Ultimately, how such events or deeds conduce to dehumanization, and what humanity would mean in the light of such events.
