Paul Russell has been an invited Assistant Professor at Virginia (1988), an invited Assistant Professor at Stanford (1989-1990), and an invited Associate Professor at Pittsburgh (1996-1997). In 2005 he was a Kenan Distinguished Visitor at the Univesity of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has also held half-time positions in Sweden as Professor of Philosophy at Gothenburg (2015-2017) and Lund (2018-2025).
