Paul Russell is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of British Columbia.
He has also been an invited Assistant Professor at Virginia (1988), an invited Assistant Professor at Stanford (1989-1990), and an invited Associate Professor at Pittsburgh (1996-1997). In 2005 he was a Kenan Distinguished Visitor at the Univesity of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has also held half-time positions in Sweden as Professor of Philosophy at Gothenburg (2015-2017) and Lund (2018-2025). From 2015-2025 he was Director of the Lund| Gothenburg Responsibility Project.
