This paper reinterprets Kant’s cosmopolitan right of hospitality as a minimal juridical status whose primary function is peacetime prevention – it civilises the first contact in ordinary cross-border encounters such as work, study, trade, and cultural exchange. It asks how Kant’s legal notion of hospitality can regulate non-emergency interactions so as to help prevent conflict, and advances two claims: hospitality is a right of visit, not a charitable duty nor a right to settlement and its principal force is preventive, operating in peacetime by structuring non-hostile encounters. Using conceptual analysis and a hermeneutic reconstruction of Perpetual Peace (AA 8) in dialogue with recent scholarship, the article shows that this reading clarifies the reciprocal duties of host and guest, illuminates the connection to commerce and cosmopolitan education, and steers a course between moral maximalism and realist minimalism.

Niniejsze studium bada filozoficzny wkład Immanuela Kanta i Johanna Gottfrieda Herdera w dziedzinę antropologii kulturowej. Analizuje idealizm i transcendentalizm Kanta, które zapewniły uniwersalną perspektywę kultury i wpłynęły na różne koncepcje antropologiczne. Badanie dotyczy krytyki poglądów Kanta na rasę i płeć, podkreślając ewolucję jego myśli w odpowiedzi na pojawiające się dyscypliny naukowe. Dodatkowo, badanie zagłębia się w rolę Herdera w kształtowaniu współczesnych studiów kulturowych, podkreślając jego sprzeciw wobec oświeceniowego uniwersalizmu i wprowadzenie relatywizmu kulturowego. Przeanalizowano również poglądy Herdera na temat wyjątkowości i godności różnych kultur, ilustrując ich wpływ na rozwój antropologii kulturowej. Artykuł kończy się omówieniem aktualnego znaczenia filozofii Kanta i Herdera we współczesnym dyskursie antropologicznym.

The human issue with the concept of finality constitutes a fundamental platform for the philosophical concept of transhumanism. This paper addresses the historical-philosophical perspective of transhumanism with emphasis put on the 18th and 19th centuries, whereby possible anticipatory actions with respect to transhumanist thought are analyzed. In this sense, the need for a philosophical reflection on transhumanism is justified. The main part of this paper is aimed at philosophical and ethical questions related to cryonics as being one of the most dominant and feasible transhumanist practices. The characteristics and critical analysis of cryonics focuses on the problem of understanding death from a philosophical standpoint.
