I specialize in nineteenth- and twentieth-century European philosophy. My book, Nietzsche's Tragic Philosophy: Pessimism and the Affirmation of Life, is forthcoming with Edinburgh University Press. I also have interests in ancient to early modern philosophy, social and political philosophy, philosophy and film, and contemporary continental philosophy.
