Philip-Neri Reese, O.P.

I am a Dominican friar, a Catholic priest, and a professor of philosophy at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (aka the Angelicum), in Rome. I also serve as the director of the Angelicum Thomistic Institute and the principle investigator for its Project on Philosophy and the Thomistic Tradition. I completed my doctorate at the University of Notre Dame in 2022, where I wrote a dissertation on the demonstrative character of Aquinas's metaphysics. My main areas of interest are metaphysics, the history of metaphysics, and meta-metaphysics, with a special emphasis on scholasticism and a particular focus on the thought of Thomas Aquinas and his subsequent reception. I am also very interested in questions of philosophical methodology, as well as in classical Indian philosophy.
