I am an assistant professor of philosophy at Virginia Tech. I work in social and political philosophy and the history of African American political thought. My research focuses on the political thought of Black American abolitionists in the antebellum period, and Black American labor organizers in the mid-20th century.
My first book, Seizing Citizenship: Frederick Douglass's Abolitionist Republicanism, is out now with Oxford University Press: https://global.oup.com/academic/product/seizing-citizenship-9780197776735
