I am a lecturer at the University of Manchester and an associate editor for the Australasian Journal of Philosophy.
My primary research interests are in the philosophy of mind and cognitive science. (These days, my main focus is on the cognitive science of emotion). But I am also interested in aesthetics, metaphysics and the philosophy of race.
Prior to moving to Manchester, I was a senior lecturer at the University of Auckland and before that a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Cambridge. My PhD (on the topic of the hard problem of consciousness) is from the University of Sydney.
