My research centers on the pursuit of happiness. I am currently writing on how to live under conditions in which a good life is elusive or beyond reach. My work spans ethics, meta-ethics, and moral psychology, and engages with ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, 18th- through 20th-century European philosophy, and social and political philosophy.
