RISHIKESH UPADHYAY was born to Indian nepali parents, Pitambar Upadhaya (father) and Nandakala (Bawni) Upadhaya (mother) in Bhanjang Basti, Haflong, a small Nepalis’ hamlet via Mahadev tilla at Haflong, the district headquarter of North Cachar Hills (now Dima Hasao), India. He is a multi-award-winning Indian writer and professor, chiefly known for his writings and teaching.
He earned MSc, MPhil, PhD from Assam University, and a BSc Hons from Haflong Government College, India.
