    This paper’s central argument is that Michel Henry’s phenomenology of Life can be used to establish an ethic of hospitality. Henry recalls, by establishing the relationship to the other inside the Life’s community, that the stranger is not primarily an invader, but rather a brother, but in the meaning of the African term “ndeko”, derived from Lingala, spoken in both Congo.
