A philosopher by academic degree (MA), Robert has various interests: causality; space & time; philosophy of science; eastern philosophy, philosophical, formal, applied and data ontology; aesthetics; ethics; ancient philosophy; and military ethics. Other interests: astronautics, spacecraft operations, orbital dynamics, space situational awareness, knowledge representation and reasoning, boat operations, maritime search and rescue, water safety. Research experience includes contributions to data ontology projects; over 20 independently written papers (http://orcid.org/0000-0003-3835-7817); and extensive volunteering and service to disciplines in ontology, aerospace, and maritime.
He has sought to champion efforts in space ontology since 2011, and continues to seek formal collaborations and sponsors to develop and fund his Space Domain Ontology project (https://purl.org/space-ontology).
Skills include: symbolic logic, ontology engineering, conceptual data modeling, writing, editing, website content management, content creation, etc.
Academia goals include:
(i) a PhD in philosophy. a degree in astronautics, or general space studies;
PhD topics of interest include his space ontology project; philosophy (various topics); foundational topics in philosophical and applied ontology; ethical topics therein; and some interdisciplinary topics.
(ii) a PhD via an interdisciplinary dept.
(iii) to teach philosophy
One of Robert's dedicated life-goal outside of academia is to become a maritime search & rescue (SAR) first-responder on rescue boats. Toward this, he has trained, and sacrificing extensively in volunteering for this public service.
