I work in philosophy of action, especially free will and moral responsibility, as well as death and the meaning of life. In both cases I am interested in the idea of narrative identity and its ability to articulate what seems to me central to both areas: the temporal dimension of our practical selves. I am also interested in ethics, particularly in the Kantian vein; translating insights from continental philosophy (especially existentialism) into coherent contributions to contemporary debates; environmental ethics; and the history of free will debates from Augustine on.
