I am a doctoral candidate in the department of Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University and hold a research assistantship with the initiative in ethics and sexual violence at the Rock Ethics Institute. My primary research interests are 20th century continental philosophy and feminism, with an emphasis on ontological and ethical concerns about embodiment, especially with respect to the problem of sexual violence. Working for the initiative in ethics and sexual violence has given me the opportunity to actively contribute to improving the awareness and understanding of sexual violence in the community. This has brought urgent ethical concerns to my philosophical research. I continue addressing the problem of sexual violence in my dissertation project in order to develop an ethics of vulnerability that rethinks the place of and responsibility for the erotic in our social fabric and open possibilities for prevention and resistance.
