This paper undertakes the test of deflating the notion of entitlement in Robert Brandom's main approach to explain human discursive agency: the deontic scorekeeping model. The core claim is that entitlement can be either irrelevant, subsidiary, or less relevant than the other major notion of Brandom's model: commitment. The underlying goal of the article is to test the extent to which entitlement can be more or less dispensable in the overall project of normative pragmatics. To carry out this exploration, I propose three versions of the entitlement deflation argument: a strong one, which regards commitment without entitlement; a standard one, which views entitlement as subordinate to commitment; and a weak one, which considers both concepts in their reciprocal determination with the priority of commitment in one particular aspect. The result of the test will allow a better understanding of Brandom's deontic scorekeeping model from the inside through the interaction between its two main conceptual tools, while opening the possibility of a simplification of the model in its theoretical components to make it more robust. Finally, the analysis will reveal the moral foundations implicit in Brandom's model.

J. G. Fichte has a prominent place in J. D. Perón’s philosophical-political text from 1949, La Comunidad Organizada (An Organized Community). The name of the German philosopher appears twice throughout the speech given by the president of Argentina at that time. In both mentions by Perón, Fichte plays a role as a moderator between two opposing philosophical tensions and at the same time contributes to a new conception of community outlined by Perón in the context of the first internationally renowned congress of philosophy organized in Argentina. Perón highlights Fichte’s political thought as a position that promotes the realization of the individual through community. In his closing speech, the president places Fichte’s figure above what he considers two philosophical deviations of his time: selfish individualism, on the one hand, and Hegelian statism –and its Marxist materialistic derivation– on the other. The “third position” proposed by Perón defends a concept of community in which Fichte has a privileged voice.

Entre 1798 y 1799, Novalis emprende el proyecto filosófico más ambicioso del Romanticismo alemán. Con apenas veintiséis años, este joven autor, cuyo verdadero nombre era Friedrich von Hardenberg, se propone descubrir cómo funciona el conocimiento y comienza la escritura de una serie de cuadernos publicados de manera póstuma. En ellos, Novalis experimenta el camino para conocer absolutamente todo y concibe una empresa para lograrlo, a la que denomina “enciclopedística”. En este libro, exploramos el complejo entramado conceptual en el que se encuadra la enciclopedística tal como Novalis la concibe y la desarrolla, en conexión con la pregunta por la posibilidad de un auténtico “arte del descubrimiento” y de una “ciencia total”. Esta investigación implica no solo atender al proyecto novaliano en su relación estrecha con las ciencias, como sucede ejemplarmente en el caso de la geología y la matemática, sino también a su vínculo con los universos filosóficos del idealismo alemán, donde autores como Spinoza, Kant, Hemsterhuis, Fichte, y hasta Plotino aparecen bajo una luz completamente nueva. Este estudio de la enciclopedística de Novalis nos conduce eventualmente a reflexionar acerca de la mayor tecnología jamás inventada por el hombre: el libro. Novalis quiere crear un “libro de libros”, una “Biblia” gnoseológica, y su proyecto transporta a sus lectores a un multiverso bibliográfico sin principio ni fin, en el cual podemos infinitamente compendiar, clasificar, combinar, construir, destruir, y especialmente romantizar y poetizar el conocimiento en todas sus formas.

En 1627, el funcionario estatal francés Gabriel Naudé escribió un texto titulado _Advis pour dresser une bibliothèque_. El tratado, considerado con frecuencia obra fundacional de la biblioteconomía, pone a la vista ideas muy propias de dos concepciones del conocimiento erudito: la enciclopedística y el escepticismo. El presente trabajo examina las posibles afinidades filosóficas que los dos fenómenos epistemológicos mencionados presentarían en el texto de Naudé, todo ello en el marco del absolutismo francés del siglo XVII.

This article aims to explore and to analyze three meanings of the project called “encyclopaedistics”, created by the German scientist and thinker Novalis. The examined definitions try to find the identity of this concept through their negative restrictions, namely the various aspects that cannot be applied to the author’s designed conception. In order to accomplish its purpose, this paper focuses on the study of the text entitled Das Allgemeine Brouillon. Materialien zur Enzyklopädistik, where Novalis sketches the notion of encyclopaedistics. This unfinished work enables to discover the shape taken by such project, as well as to connect it with European Enlightenment and encyclopaedistics’s tradition from 16th to 18th centuries.

El presente trabajo analiza los diagnósticos, las soluciones, y el modo de implementación de un orden social igualitario por parte de Friedrich Schiller y Gerald Cohen. Para ello, ambos pensadores consideran la necesidad de erradicar el egoísmo y la desconfianza mediante una transformación cultural de tipo fraternal, fomentada por el “temple de ánimo estético” y el “principio de comunidad”. Asimismo, los autores enfatizan la relevancia de un aspecto común a sus reflexiones: la pugna por la realización de una “revolución del sentimiento”, herramienta reconocida como la más adecuada para educar al hombre en el valor de la fraternidad.

La sobrecarga de información resulta un problema epistemológico que preocupa a distintas áreas del conocimiento tales como al campo de las ciencias cognitivas, en su intento por modelar sistemas capaces de detectar relevancia como a la ya olvidada enciclopedística, practicada durante los siglos XVI- XVIII y abocada a la organización, disposición y difusión de la información científica de la época. El presente artículo intenta dar cuenta del fracaso de estos dos campos de investigación a la hora de hallar soluciones ante la problemática de la sobrecarga informacional. Para abordar nuestra cuestión clave, examinaremos particularmente las miradas relativamente pesimistas de H. Dreyfus y de Novalis. Los tratamientos de estos autores demuestran que la sobrecarga de información no puede, ni podrá ser resuelta, si no se recurre a otra vía de investigación por fuera de aquellas que se muestran como insuficientes, a saber: el modelo computacional de la mente (Dreyfus) y la operación enciclopedística clasificatoria (Novalis).
