I am currently completing my Phd at Indiana University - Bloomington. In my dissertation I argue that non-group members have both an epistemic and moral duty to defer to marginalized testifiers when they testify about the identity-based harms that they have experienced. I contend that members of marginalized groups are 1) better epistemically positioned in relation to the relevant empirical information and 2) have greater moral authority to provide moral recommendations regarding their own identity-harms than their non-member counterparts. I also have secondary interests in Mutual Aid, Solidarity, and Digital Ethics.
