Sefi's current research deals primarily with the nature of language acquisition. He is a skeptic with regard to Behaviorist and semi-Behaviorist accounts of syntax acquisition, while rejecting the hypothesis of innate representational language of thought. The primary aim of his thesis is to develop the best possible defence of the constitutive view of language, looking especially at the work of Millikan, Brandom and Wittgenstein.
