Seisuke Hayakawa

(1) Ethics, Epistemology, and Philosophy of Mind: My work proposes a reorientation of ethical and epistemological inquiry by centering on the practice of listening in human interaction. Through this focus, I offer relational accounts of freedom, agency, and responsibility that intertwine moral and epistemic dimensions. I am currently authoring a book titled Receptivity and Human Agency (under contract with Wiley-Blackwell). (2) Care Ethics and Clinical Ethics: In advancing care ethics, I emphasize the temporal dynamics inherent in human interaction, highlighting how temporal care facilitates shared decision-making within and beyond clinical contexts. I published a volume on care ethics with Prof. Michael Slote: Care Ethics and Beyond: Moral, Epistemological, and Cross-Cultural Perspectives (Palgrave Macmillan)
