Simone Nota

I work at the intersection of modern and contemporary metaphysics, with a special focus on the conditions and limits of metaphysical inquiry. My doctoral dissertation (Trinity College, 2024) explored the possibility of transcendental metaphysics through a comparison of Kant’s and Wittgenstein’s approaches to transcendental idealism, culminating in the proposal of Transcendental Quietism: an original position that is both methodologically transcendental and metaphysically quietist. I also work on topics in philosophy of mind and language, including dreams and linguistic falsehood. Currently, I am a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Philosophy in Zagreb, investigating the intentional relation between human beings and reality from a transcendental perspective.
