I’m a first-year PhD student at IUSS Pavia and member of the HUMATH project (2025-2028), funded by the Italian Science Fund (FIS) and led by Silvia De Toffoli.
My main topic of investigation is the concept of Understanding, broadly construed. Currently, I’m working on two specific analyses: first, the nature of understanding in science and mathematics and its epistemic intersection with scientific modeling practices; second, the possibility that AI systems perform a kind of understanding process analogous to how human agents do.
