At schools, as well as in different spaces, people use speech to interact, to learn and to communicate. However, many students have a deficit in the latter and, to support cases as this, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) emerged, which promotes through symbols, gestures, resources, techniques and strategies, a partial or full support for individuals’ communication with verbal communication déficits. The research carried out had the AAC as its object. of study and as main objective the conduction of a systematic Biblioghrafic Review about the theme, with search in two databases: the Central Library of theses and dissertations (CLTD) and CAPES Catalog of Theses and Dissertations. During the investigation, sixty academic works were analysed and ten of them selected for a more detaild analysis, for getting closer to the central themes of this research. The results pointed that AAC is an essential tool for educational inclusion of autistic students, reducing communicative barriers. However, it is evident how many gaps remain about the debate concerning the implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication in the dynamics of educational spaces.
