Sofia Ines Albornoz Stein

Sofia Stein researches in the areas of analytical philosophy of language, cognitive sciences and philosophy of neurosciences and is a research productivity fellow at CNPq. Sofia was president of the Brazilian Society for Analytic Philosophy from 2019 to 2020 and is the president of the Southern Cone Philosophy and History of Science Association. Sofia developed research, in 1998, at Universität Bielefeld, Germany, and, in 2011, at University of Pittsburgh, under the supervision of John McDowell. She published "Van Orman Quine: epistemology, semantics and ontology" (2009) and translated the Quinean classic "Word and Object" (1960) into Portuguese. From 2013 to 2021, she coordinated the Laboratory of Experimental Philosophy and Cognition Studies at Unisinos.
