I'm a research fellow at the Centre for Advanced Studies in the Humanities: ‘Human Abilities’ in Berlin. Before coming to Berlin, I wrote my PhD dissertation at the LSE.
I'm interested in what it takes to have and exercise abilities, and in how abilities relate to the options and opportunities that people have. My most recent research centres on (1) how tests help us find out about people’s abilities; (2) how agents’ social identity might interact with their beliefs about their potential; and (3) how we should understand the relation between abilities and disability.
