This research examines how students produce ethical values through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic assignments, using Jeremy Bentham’s seven Hedonic Calculus indicators: Intensity, Duration, Certainty, Propinquity, Fecundity, Purity, and Extent. The research asks how students evaluate the ethical consequences of AI use in academic work. A descriptive-analytical method was employed through a survey of 81 active students. The findings show that 72.5% of respondents perceived AI use as beneficial in terms of Intensity, while 62.5% expressed confidence in its benefits regarding Certainty. For Fecundity, 55% believed AI use could generate further benefits. Only 35% perceived long-term benefits (Duration), whereas 65.1% perceived immediate benefits (Propinquity). Regarding Purity, only 38.7% believed that AI use would not produce negative consequences. For Extent, 68.7% recognized that AI use could affect other parties. Regarding Ethical Judgment, 46.3% considered AI use in academic assignments ethically justifiable, while 35% remained uncertain. The findings indicate that students’ ethical evaluations tend toward consequentialist vaues, emphasizing perceived benefits while remaining uncertain about long-term consequences and potential negative effects. This article examines how Richard Hooker’s views can serve as a critique of the postmodernist conception of truth. This concept was popularized by Pauline Marie Rosenau. She distinguishes between two types of postmodernism: Skeptical Postmodernism and Affirmative Postmodernism. In relation to the interpretation of truth, Skeptical Postmodernism rejects the very possibility of truth. In fact, for Skeptical Postmodernism, truth is a form of terrorism; it threatens, silences, and then extinguishes other ideas regarding the possibility of reinterpreting or rejecting that truth. Affirmative Postmodernism also rejects universal truth and discards the notion of a hidden truth “out there” waiting to be uncovered. However, in Affirmative Postmodernism, the idea and forms of truth—local, personal, and communal truths—are still considered possible. This study employs a critical analysis approach: using Richard Hooker’s lens to examine the validity of Roesnau’s conceptual framework.
