Tal Correm

Tal Correm is a clinical assistant professor in Liberal Studies at New York University. Before joining NYU, she was an assistant professor of philosophy at Allegheny College and an assistant professor of instruction in the Intellectual Heritage Program at Temple University. She is a Consulting Editor of the Arendt Studies journal. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors and an elected chair of the Executive Committee of the Hannah Arendt Circle. She received her Ph.D. in philosophy from Temple University. Her areas of specialization are political theory, ethics and social and political philosophy, with competence in feminist theory, cross-cultural philosophy, aesthetics, and the history of philosophy. Her research focuses on the intersection of ethics and political theory, specifically with relation to political violence, transitional justice, and democratic theory. She has presented her work internationally at meetings of the American Political Science Association, the Association for Political Theory, the American Philosophical Association, the Caribbean Philosophical Association, the Hannah Arendt Circle, and elsewhere. Her essays have been published in edited volumes and journals, including Arendt Studies; Theoria: A Journal of Social and Political Theory; Listening: Journal of Communication Ethics, Religion, and Culture. She is the co-editor, with Dana Francisco Miranda and Thomas Meagher, of The Palgrave Handbook on Frantz Fanon, under contract with Palgrave Macmillan.
