In my PhD project, I will analyze the epistemological and ethical dimensions of the concept of practical cognition which becomes prevalent in the later works of Immanuel Kant. In close analogy with recent work on theoretical cognition, I research what role the concept of practical cognition plays, has played, and could play in the landscape of Kantian moral thinking. I am especially interested in the meta-ethical implications for our conceptualization of moral knowledge and how this impacts ongoing debates between constructivists and strong realists.
