Timo Miettinen is a Finnish philosopher and intellectual historian specializing in European philosophy, political thought, and the history of ideas. His research focuses on phenomenology, democracy, nationalism, European integration, and the political experience of historical time. He is the author of The Time of Democracy and numerous scholarly articles on European political thought. He holds the title of Docent in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki.
