I am a theater historian/theorist grounded in critical realist philosophy. Some of my work concerns the relationship between performance and communication practices, historiographically and ontologically, and to a small extent in connection to cognitive science. I also publish strictly philosophical articles about critical realism itself, analyzing a concept or the adoptability of a concept developed by others (e.g., Peirce and Deleuze). I am currently working on a book that defines theater based on critical realist social theory.
