My main academic interests are in philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, and early modern philosophy, with particular attention to George Berkeley's contributions to each of these. I successfully defended my dissertation, New Work for Berkeley's Theory of Divine Language, in May 2023. I serve on the steering committee for Integrating Civil Discourse into the Curriculum (ICDC), a FIPSE-funded national initiative led by the University of Notre Dame and North Carolina State University. ICDC's pedagogical model, based on Thinker and Sway, treats sound reasoning and civil dialogue as interdependent cognitive skills that must be taught together. On January 1, 2027, I will begin serving as Assistant Director of ICDC, concurrently with my position at Edward Waters University.
