She was for many years a full professor of logic at Opole University and co-founder and co-chairperson of the Group of Logic, Language and Information established there and was the co-organizer of ESSLLI’ 2013. Her interdisciplinary research interests include: logic, philosophy, logic and philosophy of language, logical theory of communication, formal linguistics, information sciences and mathematics. In 2000 she was a visiting professor at Tilburg University and University of Amsterdam; in 1997, 2001-2002 a visiting research scholar Grad. Sch.& U. Center at CUNY (Phil. Dep.) in New York and in 2009 a visiting professor at CUNY (Ph.D. Program in Math. ) and a guest at Stanford University, CA. She is a member of many Polish and international scientific associations, including: The Association for Symbolic Logic, The European Association for Logic, Language and Information (FoLLI), The Association of Logic and Philosophy of Science, Polish Society of Philosophy, Polish Society of Mathematics, Polish Association for Semiotic Studies. She is the author of about 130 publications. Her book “Theory of Language Syntax. Categorial Approach” was awarded for scientific research by the Polish Ministry of Education, (1992).
