Valéry Giroux

I am a coordinator of the Centre for Research on Ethics (CRE), an interuniversity research center located in Quebec, Canada. I am also a member of the Quebec Bar and hold a Masters in Law with a thesis on the reform of the Canadian Criminal Code dealing with cruelty to animals. I hold a doctorate in philosophy from Université de Montréal (UdeM) with a dissertation on the necessity of granting legal fundamental individual rights to all sentient beings. I am an adjunct professor at the Law Faculty at UdeM and Fellow at Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics. Among my publications are three books recently published: “Contre l'exploitation animale: Un argument pour les droits fondamentaux de tous les êtres sensibles (L'Âge d'Homme, 2017), a "Que sais-je?" on veganism (co-written with Renan Larue, Puf, 2017) and a second "Que sais-je?", this one on antispeciesism (Puf, 2020).
