From 1988 onwards Varol Akman was a professor of computer engineering at Bilkent University. He was also the founding chair (2002-2015) of Bilkent’s Philosophy Department. He retired in 2024. His research interests include (i) commonsense reasoning, (ii) context, (iii) AI & Law, (iv) ChatGPT and the future of work, and (v) Twitter.
