Virgil W. Brower began teaching ethics to off-duty police officers at the Chicago Police Academy. He became the Full-Time Lecturer of Philosophy at Chicago State University where he taught logic, critical thinking, philosophy of law, comparative religion, and political science for over a decade. During his last few years at CSU he served as administrator of the Honors College in which he taught humanities and the philosophy of science while coordinating their social outreach volunteer program.
