Dr. Vishal Dagar joined the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, Haryana, India, in December 2021 as an Assistant Professor of Economics. He has more than five years of teaching and research experience. He also worked as a Junior Economist with the World Bank, as a Research Fellow at the Agricultural Economics Research Centre at the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, and as a Data Scientist with AbsolutData Analytics Pvt. Ltd., an Infogain company. Dr. Dagar is listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to Elsevier and Standford University's composite research score for 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Amity University, a Masters in Economics from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, and a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Delhi. He is also a Postdoctoral Fellow at Ryerson University in Canada.
He specializes in predicting technical efficiency and productivity estimates with stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) and data envelope analysis (DEA) models. His research interests include agricultural economics, energy economics, environmental economics, applied economics, and finance. He had delivered sessions by invitation on innovative approaches that are employed in economic research at many business schools across the globe, i.e., the Koppleman School of Business at Brooklyn College, the City University of New York, the Paris School of Business, IPAG Business School, Paris, France, Ural Federal University, Ekaterinburg, Russia, KAPSARC Saudi Arabia, and the Department of Economics at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, USA.
He has published more than 50 SSCI/SCI research papers in more than 25 different leading journals (FT 50, ABDC A*, A, B, and C), including the Journal of Business Ethics, Energy Economics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, the Journal of Cleaner Production, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, Finance Research Letters, the European Management Journal, Management Decision, Resources Policy, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, Sustainable Development, etc. He has reviewed over 800 research papers for over 100 verified leading and reputed journals from Publons (the Web of Science).
