Fu Yaokun is a member of the PACE project (https://pace.phl.univie.ac.at/) and a PhD candidate at the University of Vienna. Before settling in Vienna, he studied philosophy at Wuhan University. In his PhD research project, he defends the essentialist theory of modality, according to which metaphysical modalities are grounded in the essences of things. He is also curious about what essentialists have to say about our epistemology of essence. In the spirit of rationalism, he leans towards intuitionism for our knowledge of essence.
