with Yingjun Liu, Yong Jiang, Chuanbin Guo, Yongsheng Zhou, Tiejun Li, Wenshu Ge, and Na An
    Frontiers in Psychology 13. 2022.
Intern physicians are generally more burdened by stress than the general population. This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the current situation regarding burnout and explore its association with the self-evaluation of competence among Chinese dental interns. A self-administered anonymous survey was conducted on 91 dental interns in the Peking University School of Stomatology, from August 2019 to June 2020. It consisted of a psychological stress questionnaire, including burnout and self-e…Read more

Exploring the Effect of a Scaffolding Design on Students’ Argument Critique Skills
with Szu-Fu Chao and Yigal Attali
    Informal Logic 40 (4): 605-628. 2020.
We designed scaffolded tasks that targeted the skill of identifying reasoning errors and conducted a study with 472 middle school students. The study results showed a small positive impact of the scaffolding on student performance on one topic, but not the other, indicating that student skills of writing critiques could be affected by the topic and argument content. Additionally, students from low-SES families did not perform as well as their peers. Student performance on the critique tasks had …Read more

Modeling Cell-to-Cell Spread of HIV-1 with Nonlocal Infections
with Xiaoting Fan and Wencai Zhao
    Complexity 2018 1-10. 2018.
This paper is devoted to develop a nonlocal and time-delayed reaction-diffusion model for HIV infection within host cell-to-cell viral transmissions. In a bounded spatial domain, we study threshold dynamics in terms of basic reproduction numberR0for the heterogeneous model. Our results show that ifR0 1, virus will persist in the host environment.

A stochastic prey-predator system in a polluted environment with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response is proposed and analyzed. Firstly, for the system with white noise perturbation, by analyzing the limit system, the existence of boundary periodic solutions and positive periodic solutions is proved and the sufficient conditions for the existence of boundary periodic solutions and positive periodic solutions are derived. And then for the stochastic system, by introducing Markov regime switch…Read more
