I mostly work in metaethics, with a side hustle in philosophy of law. My primary research project is on moral motivation.
I’m currently a Bersoff Faculty Fellow at NYU. In August 2010 I’ll head West and become an Assistant Professor at USC.
I did my PhD at Michigan, and a BA and MPhil at Cambridge. I did Teach First in between the MPhil and the PhD, so I also have a teaching degree and a couple years’ experience getting fifteen-year-olds to care about politics. I co-founded and co-ran the Michigan High School Ethics Bowl during my PhD, from 2013 to 2018, and I have much enthusiasm and many tips for anyone who wants to start a HSEB.
